EMAIL PROTECTION AND CYBERSECURITY
Chatham utilizes Microsoft 365 for email because of its built-in security to help keep your data safe. When you see a suspicious email that asks for account information or other personal information, please do not click on anything. All students, staff, and faculty are responsible for following the university's acceptable use policy for communication, network, and electronic systems.
Microsoft Defender (PC)
Microsoft Defender for individuals is a cross-device security app that helps individuals and families protect their personal data and devices.
CONNECT TO THE NETWORK
ITS recommends that students configure wired and wireless network devices to join Chatham's Wireless Network. Unfortunately, some consumer electronics devices, such as gaming consoles, printers, and smart TVs, are not 802.1x capable and require alternative authentication. To solve this problem, students may register devices to access the Chatham Wi-Fi network through a web portal. IT Support Services can assist with this setup.

This is a secure private network to be used by Chatham issued devices. Users should enter their Chatham username and password to access this network connection. (The same credentials are used for my.chatham and Chatham email).

VPN
Sometimes you will need to connect to Chatham’s network via a VPN when off campus. This is needed if you have software that needs to connect to our network for a license, or you may need to connect to a network drive found on our network. Always run VPN first when off campus to access needed software or network drives.
