Changing MFA Verification option to App

 

Overview

Explains how to change your Microsoft Multi-Factor verification process to an app manager.  This is useful when you are traveling out of the country. Assuming you have wifi, you should be able to verify your MFA.

 

Instructions

 

1.    Click on Account Manager.

 


 

 

2.    Click on My Account.

 

3.    Click on Manage security & privacy.

 


 

 

4.    Click on Add or change your security verification settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5.    Click on Update your phone numbers used for account security.

 

 

6.    You will need to check the Authenticator app or Token box and select Use verification code from app or token as your default verification option.  When you first click one or the other, a message comes up explaining that you need both selected.

 

 

7.     Click on the Setup Authenticator app button.

 

8.    Install the authenticator app on your phone and follow the instructions.

9.    Click the Next button after the 6 digit code is displayed.

10. Click the save button when setup is complete.
