Sophos Home Antivirus for Mac

Overview

Please follow the below instructions to install Sophos Home Antivirus to your Mac. 

 

Instructions

Before beginning, confirm that your version of macOS is supported by Sophos here: https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000034670?language=en_US

  1. Download the Sophos Central setup pkg file from https://my.sophos.com/en-us/download/ (this will download to your downloads as a pkg file)
  2. Open your downloads folder
  3. Click on the Sophos Installer Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Click Open  Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Click Let's start  
  6. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Read the terms and conditions and click Install.  Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  7. Click Install on New User. 
  8. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Enter you Mac Username and Mac Password and click Install Helper
  9. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)When the installations process is complete, create a new account follow the prompts.

  11. Click Open Security Preferences to allow System Extension.
  12. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Click the lock icon in the bottom left if it is not already unlocked.  You will be prompted to enter the password for your Mac.  Once unlocked, click the Details button, then check the two boxes for Sophos and click OK to allow the Sophos extensions. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  13. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)When prompted, allow Sophos to add proxy configurations.  Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  14. If you are prompted to give Sophos Full Disk Access, open Security & Privacy in System Preferences
  15. Unlock the lock to make changes
  16. Open Full Disk Access folder located in the left pane of Security & Privacy window
  17. Drag and drop the file from the screen below to your Full Disk Access Panel.
