YuJa - Live Stream Captions

Summary

To set up YuJa Live Captions, register the classroom device, schedule a live stream using the “Live Streaming with Captions” profile, and share the automatically generated live stream link so students can view the session with real-time captions.

Setup YuJa Live Captions

1. Register the Classroom Device (ONLY NEEDS DONE ONCE)

  • On the classroom computer, open the YuJa Software Capture application.

  • In the Windows taskbar, right-click the YuJa user icon.

  • Choose Register Device, then name the device (e.g., “Classroom Desktop F219A”).

  • The device will now appear under Admin Panel → Devices.

2. Create a Live Stream Profile (ONLY NEEDS DONE ONCE)

  • In Admin Panel → Devices, click Manage Software Capture Profiles.

  • Select Create New Profile → choose Shared Profile (not default).

  • Enable Live Streaming and select:

    • Camera and/or screen sources

    • Audio input device

  • Save the profile (e.g., “Live Stream with Captions”).


3. Schedule a Live Stream Session


4. Accessing the Live Stream

  • Faculty: The live stream starts automatically at the scheduled time.

    • Navigate back to the device area in YuJa

    • Select the calendar

    • Click on the event and copy and paste the link to launch the stream.

  • Students: Receive a notification or email link to join the live stream in YuJa.
